Role: Teaching Assistant – Year 1
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £95-£105 per day (Depending on experience and/or qualifications)
Contract: Temporary – Long Term Supply - September 2026 – July 2027
About the role
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, caring, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming and supportive primary school community in Sheffield. This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a Year 1 class, supporting children as they continue to develop their confidence, independence, and love of learning.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support high-quality teaching and learning, helping to create a stimulating, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment. You will encourage children to develop key skills across the curriculum, build positive relationships, and achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
We are looking for someone who is patient, adaptable, and committed to meeting the individual needs of all learners. You will play an important role in promoting a positive and engaging learning environment where children feel safe, valued, and motivated to participate, explore, and succeed. A genuine passion for supporting young children and making a positive difference to their educational journey is essential.
Requirements
Salary is dependent on experience, qualifications and training. All successful applicants will:
- Experience in working with children in a school or specialist setting
- A nurturing, patient and consistent approach
- Have referenceable experience working in a school setting.
- Be passionate about education, with a desire to help young people thrive.
- Be an excellent communicator with a positive, can-do attitude.
- Ideally hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to vehicle.
