This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic gardener/handyperson to work at Claughton Hall near Lancaster.
Experience in gardening is not essential. Having a high attention to detail, positive work ethic and being practically minded is preferred. The role will specialise in the management of our lawns, herbaceous borders, parkland and other areas within the property as needed.
Experience of using all types of garden machinery is not essential as this can be provided if needed. A good level of fitness and willingness to work in all weather conditions is essential. Chainsaw licence preferable but happy to put the right applicant on a course.
Salary is £13.50 per hour. Happy to fit around the applicant re start date.

Responsibilities;
- Maintain and care for gardens, lawns and outdoor spaces
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as watering, weeding, pruning, and fertilizing plants.
- Operate power tools and hand tools for soft and hard landscaping tasks
- Plant flowers, trees, and other vegetation according to landscape plans.
- Monitor plant health and identify any pests or diseases
- Clean and maintain garden equipment and tools.
- Assist with groundskeeping duties such as mowing lawns, raking leaves, and removing debris.
Ideal but not essential as training can be provided.
-Chainsaw licence
- Previous experience in garden maintenance.
- Knowledge of different plant species.
- Familiarity with hand tools, 2 and 4 stroke machinery used in gardening
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour in various weather conditions
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
-Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively
-Must be able to commute and hold a valid UK drivers licence
