Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Drivers Mate to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will assist with the safe and efficient delivery of goods, supporting the driver throughout the journey. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in commercial driving and logistics operations, with a focus on customer service and operational safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist the driver in loading and unloading goods at various locations, ensuring items are handled carefully and securely.
- Support with route planning and navigation to ensure timely deliveries.
- Help with vehicle checks and basic maintenance tasks to ensure lorry safety and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with customers during deliveries, providing excellent service and addressing any queries professionally.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and report any issues or delays promptly.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times during transit and loading/unloading procedures.
Skills
- Previous experience in delivery driving or warehouse environments is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with customers, drivers, and warehouse staff.
- Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety standards.
- Mechanical knowledge to assist with basic vehicle troubleshooting or minor repairs.
- Experience with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles is desirable.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics processes.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
