Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable General Labourer to join a team in Dorchester on a commercial project. This role involves supporting various on-site tasks across different projects, ensuring smooth operations and maintaining a safe working environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a dynamic work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of materials and equipment
- Preparing work sites by clearing debris and setting up necessary tools and safety barriers
- Carrying out manual tasks such as lifting, digging, and moving materials as required
- Supporting skilled tradespeople with their tasks when needed
- Ensuring health and safety protocols are followed at all times
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the work area throughout the shift
- Reporting any hazards or issues to supervisors promptly
Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual labour over extended periods
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures in a construction or industrial environment
- Reliable with a strong work ethic and punctuality
