Duties
- Provide attentive and respectful overnight care to residents, assisting with personal hygiene, mobility, and comfort needs
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing through regular checks and respond promptly to any emergencies or changes in condition
- Support residents with medication reminders and ensure adherence to individual care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and any changes in residents’ health status using IT systems
- Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and families to ensure seamless care delivery and address any concerns
- Assist with light housekeeping duties to uphold cleanliness and safety standards within the care home
- Support residents’ emotional wellbeing through engaging conversation and companionship during overnight hours
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is advantageous but not essential; full training will be provided
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with residents, team members, and external professionals
- Basic IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans electronically
- Valid driving license is desirable for roles involving transportation or community visits
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care and safety
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures relevant to elderly or vulnerable populations is beneficial
- Demonstrated reliability, compassion, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role
