Prospero Projects Ltd is looking for an experienced MEP CAD Technician to join our growing building services consultancy.
We work across a wide range of residential and commercial projects, including new-build residential developments, commercial-to-residential conversions, high-end residential schemes, retail projects and refurbishment works.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CAD Technician who understands building services and can take responsibility for producing accurate, coordinated and well-presented mechanical and electrical drawings.
The Role
Working closely with our mechanical and electrical engineers, you will be responsible for producing and developing MEP drawings across a range of live projects.
Typical duties will include:
- Producing mechanical services drawings including heating, ventilation, cooling, domestic water and drainage layouts
- Producing electrical services drawings including lighting, small power, fire alarm, containment and distribution layouts
- Preparing MEP schematics and system diagrams
- Producing plantroom and services layouts
- Developing engineers' sketches, mark-ups and design information into coordinated CAD drawings
- Coordinating MEP services with architectural and structural drawings
- Producing builders' work and coordination drawings
- Updating drawings following design development, coordination and site changes
- Maintaining drawing standards, templates and document control
- Working across multiple projects at different stages of design and construction
About You
We are looking for someone with previous experience as an MEP CAD Technician, Building Services CAD Technician or similar.
The successful candidate should have:
- Strong AutoCAD skills
- Previous experience producing MEP / building services drawings
- A good understanding of mechanical and electrical building services
- Experience producing detailed construction-level drawings
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and engineering information
- Good understanding of drawing coordination
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good drawing presentation and organisational skills
- Ability to manage your own workload and work across several projects
- Good communication skills
- A practical and proactive approach to problem solving
Experience working within a building services or MEP consultancy would be particularly advantageous.
Experience with Revit / BIM would also be beneficial, although strong AutoCAD skills and relevant MEP experience are the main requirements for the role.
