Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in a care home or home care setting, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will assist with daily living activities, implement care plans, and communicate effectively with both patients and healthcare professionals. A strong understanding of IT systems will be beneficial for maintaining accurate records and facilitating communication.
Shift Times
- 7.00 AM to 7.00 PM - 3 Days on 3 Days off
The above rates do not include holiday pay. You will be entitled to 5.6 weeks pro rata paid holiday in addition to the hourly rate above.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility.
- Support the implementation of individual care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
- Communicate effectively with patients to understand their needs and provide emotional support.
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and progress using IT systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Drive to patients' homes as required for home care services, ensuring safe transportation.
- Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development to enhance skills.
- Dispensing Medication and Medication round
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred.
- Applicants should posses NVQ level 2 or 3 and be able to administer medication.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Basic IT skills for record keeping and communication purposes.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous for home visits.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the service.
