British Flowerpots is one of the UK's leading manufacturers of handcrafted ceramic flowerpots. Every product we produce is handcrafted in our Yorkshire workshop using traditional pottery techniques combined with modern manufacturing practices.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a practical, reliable and quality-focused Production Technician to join our skilled manufacturing team.
Whether you're an experienced manufacturing professional or someone with strong practical ability looking to develop a long-term career, we'd like to hear from you. Full training will be provided where required, with starting pay reflecting your experience, skills and the level of training needed.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll contribute to the manufacture of our handcrafted ceramic products while maintaining the high standards British Flowerpots is known for.
Working as part of our production team, you'll take pride in producing consistently high-quality work, developing your skills and helping us maintain exceptional standards across every stage of production.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture handcrafted ceramic products to consistently high standards.
- Prepare and work with clay throughout the production process.
- Form, finish and fettle ceramic products.
- Apply glazes and decorative finishes.
- Load and unload kilns safely and efficiently.
- Carry out quality inspections throughout production.
- Identify defects and maintain excellent quality standards.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist with packing finished products ready for dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Work closely with colleagues to meet production targets without compromising quality.
Essential Requirements
- A practical, hands-on approach to work.
- Excellent attention to detail.

- Good manual dexterity.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable Experience
Experience in one or more of the following would be advantageous:
- Manufacturing or production.
- Ceramics or pottery.
- Plastering
- Engineering or mechanical assembly.
- Joinery, woodworking or cabinet making.
- Automotive or aerospace manufacturing.
- Glass, stone or concrete products.
- Construction or another skilled trade.
- Quality control or inspection.
Previous ceramic experience is beneficial but not essential. We value practical ability, attention to detail and a willingness to learn just as highly.
