Here at the Mental Health Hub, we offer a 12-month supported placement in our charity shop for those over the age of 18 in recovery from ill mental health. This is an unpaid volunteer position.
While you’re with us you’ll learn new skills, make new friends, and build confidence with the help of our mental health support team. As this is a supported role, you are never pressured and progress through our retail training programme at your own pace and decide when you are ready to move from behind the scenes to a customer facing role.
We also aim to develop other areas of our volunteers lives alongside their mental wellbeing including:
- Assisted access to the Citizens Advice Tendring advice team
- North Essex Digital Access Support Team provide a fortnightly drop-in service for I.T information and queries.
We aim to give all our volunteers a tailored and positive move on at the end of their 12-month placement, from entering paid employment to finding the perfect social group.
