Looking for a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same? We’re hiring for a part-time position that combines bakery retail work with delivery driving using our mobile sandwich van to serve local businesses, working both in the shop and independently out on the road as part of a small, friendly team. This role suits someone reliable, proactive, and personable who can use their initiative, work independently, and is comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Please note: A full, clean UK driving licence is essential, and applicants must be aged 21+ for insurance purposes.
Key Responsibilities
In the bakery shop:
- Serving customers and providing friendly, efficient service
- Handling cash and operating the till accurately
- Managing phone enquiries and online orders
- Preparing sandwiches, rolls, pies, and other baked goods
- Packing, labelling, and displaying products to a high standard
- Maintaining hygiene standards and completing daily cleaning tasks
- Managing stock levels and product rotation
- Monitoring and recording chiller and freezer temperatures
- Supporting health & safety and environmental health requirements
- Occasionally opening/closing the shop and handling basic banking tasks
On the road (Mobile Sandwich Van):
- Driving the van on a regular delivery route to local businesses
- Delivering freshly made products prepared in-store
- Building relationships with customers and taking pre-orders
- Promoting products and maintaining excellent customer service
- Ensuring safe handling and transport of food
- Representing the bakery professionally in the community
- Attending local events and festivals
What We’re Looking For
- Full, clean UK driving licence and age 21+ (required)
- Friendly, reliable, and a strong team player
- Able to use initiative and work independently
- Comfortable in a varied role (shop and driving)
- Good attention to detail and high hygiene standards
- Basic food handling experience (preferred)
- Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable)
- Retail experience (preferred)
