Overview
I am seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated candidate to join my growing gardening business.
Your responsibilities will encompass routine gardening tasks and client-facing interactions within the London regions of South, West or Central London.
A genuine passion for horticulture, a willingness to assist others and a friendly disposition are essential. Comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided, with the potential for a future full-time position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with various garden and landscape tasks, ensuring the upkeep and aesthetic appeal of outdoor spaces.
Duties
- Utilise hand tools and power tools to carry out planting, pruning, trimming, and general garden maintenance
- Assist with irrigation system installation, repair, and ongoing management to ensure optimal watering of plants and lawns
- Support landscape maintenance including lawn mowing, edging, and weed control
- Plant new flora, shrubs, trees, and seasonal displays according to project specifications
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure all equipment is properly maintained and stored after use
- Assist with the installation and upkeep of garden features such as pathways, borders, and decorative elements
- Monitor plant health and growth; report any issues or pests to supervisors for prompt action
Requirements
- Experience in gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is preferred but not essential; a strong interest in gardening is required
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards
- Time management: working to a given schedule, prioritising tasks efficiently to best utilise time
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions accurately
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks including digging, lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- A proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail and quality workmanship
