Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Bus Driver to operate passenger vehicles safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a good understanding of vehicle maintenance. This role involves transporting passengers along designated routes, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the journey. The Bus Driver will also be responsible for basic vehicle upkeep and adhering to all safety regulations.
Duties
- Safely operate buses on scheduled routes, adhering to traffic laws and company policies
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, providing excellent customer service
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and cleanliness
- Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly to maintenance teams
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, and passenger counts
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and passengers using clear English
- Follow all safety protocols, including the use of seat belts and adherence to speed limits
- Assist with minor vehicle maintenance tasks when necessary, such as checking fluid levels or tyre pressure
- Ensure the bus is kept clean and presentable at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance checks and troubleshoot minor issues
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Strong driving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency
- Excellent communication skills in English, able to interact courteously with passengers and team members
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally
- Good organisational skills for managing schedules and maintaining accurate records
- Experience with vehicle maintenance or mechanical repairs is a plus
