About the Opportunity
Bolt Technical are recruiting for a CNC Machinist to join a well-established precision engineering company.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern machining environment, producing complex components for a variety of high-tech industries.
You’ll play a key role on the shop floor, setting, operating, and supporting CNC machining processes to deliver high-quality and efficient production.
Key Responsibilities
- Programme, set and operate CNC machining centres (3, 4 & 5 axis)
- Manufacture complex aerospace components to tight tolerances and customer specifications
- Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Conduct first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
- Complete production, inspection and quality documentation accurately
- Ensure all components meet aerospace quality and technical standards
- Support efficient machine utilisation and production workflow
- Assist with troubleshooting machining and production issues
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and daily equipment checks
- Operate FLT and overhead crane equipment safely where required
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Follow all company Health & Safety procedures and aerospace manufacturing processes
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the machine shop
What They’re Looking For
- Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC machining centres
- Experience working with 3, 4 and 5-axis machinery
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Apprenticeship, NVQ or City & Guilds engineering qualification
- Strong knowledge of Heidenhain controls (advantageous)
- Experience with Fanuc or Mazatrol controls beneficial
- Aerospace or other high-precision manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
