Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated HGV Class 1 Driver tramper to join our transport team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating large commercial vehicles to transport goods across various locations, primarily focusing on long-distance deliveries with extended periods away from home. Your expertise in container driving and general freight driving will ensure timely, safe, and efficient deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 trucks, including containers, ensuring adherence to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after shifts to identify any maintenance or safety issues
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and driving hours
- Load and unload freight with care, ensuring proper securing of cargo.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, vehicle inspection reports, and compliance paperwork
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse teams regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during transit
- Maintain a professional attitude at all times, representing the company positively during interactions with clients and other stakeholders Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed loads and long-distance routes
- Delivery driver experience demonstrating punctuality and reliability in meeting deadlines
- Knowledge of transportation regulations, tachograph rules, and safety standards for heavy goods vehicles
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks related to loading/unloading cargo safely
- Strong navigation skills and familiarity with route planning tools or GPS systems
- Flexibility to undertake extended trips away from home as required by the role

Pay: £51,950.00-£55,980.00 per year
