Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Baker/Pastry Cook to join our culinary team. This role involves creating a variety of baked goods, decorating cakes, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a wide range of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies
- Decorate cakes and pastries with precision and creativity using cake decorating techniques
- Package baked items attractively for retail or catering purposes
- Assist in food production processes, ensuring consistency and quality in all products
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and baking areas in compliance with food safety standards
- Handle food ingredients safely, following proper food handling procedures
- Support catering events by preparing baked goods and assisting with setup as needed
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and customer expectations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, utilizing knife skills and other culinary techniques
Qualifications
- Proven experience in baking, pastry arts, or culinary roles within the food industry or restaurant environment
- Strong skills in cake decorating, food preparation, and food handling
- Knowledge of baking techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen equipment operation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members
- Prior experience with packaging baked goods for retail or wholesale distribution is a plus
- Culinary experience including catering or restaurant work is desirable
- Basic knife skills and proficiency in food production are required
- Passion for baking, creativity in pastry decoration, and commitment to quality are essential
