We are seeking a caring, proactive and compassionate person to provide dedicated support and assistance to a lady in her family home. The role is a mix of carer and housekeeper tasks. The caring side of the role involves help with routines, personal care, basic administrative tasks and self care routines. As part of this role you will need to read aloud meditation scripts so it is essential you are confident in reading aloud slowly and clearly and creating a soothing atmosphere.
The housekeeping side involves various daily cleaning tasks as well as occasional deep cleaning tasks. Other duties include tidying, washing up, preparing light meals (breakfast and lunch) and animal care. It is essential that you are comfortable walking the family dog as part of this role.
The role is five hours on a Tuesday, three hours on a Wednesday and six hours on a Sunday.
On the Sunday the role will involve accompanying the family (including one child) on trips in the local area. This will involve pushing a wheelchair and assisting with anything else needed. Weekend hours are paid at a higher hourly rate.
You will need a full, valid driving license and be willing to take the family out in your own vehicle (petrol expenses will be reimbursed). The right person will need to have a calm demeanour and understand the need for a quiet and soothing atmosphere in the home. You will be able to build a trusting relationship with the family and be understanding, empathetic and non judgemental. The role is very varied and offers the opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of tasks. Adaptability and willingness to learn and respond to the needs of the client and family are a must.
Due to the areas of need it is vital that you can offer an autism and trauma informed approach. Previous experience is desirable (formal or informal). You will need to be self employed (or willing to register as such), have a driving license and an enhanced adult and child DBS (or be willing to get one). Please send me a message to discuss further.
