Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Panel Builder specialising in medium voltage systems to join our dynamic team on a contractor basis . The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical panels in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical panels using hand tools, power tools, and surface mount technology.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate assembly.
- Install power relays and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other control components within panels.
- Conduct wiring, soldering, and connection of electrical components with precision.
- Perform testing and inspection of assembled panels to verify functionality and safety compliance.
- Troubleshoot issues during assembly or testing phases and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure project specifications are met efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical assembly, es within medium voltage especially with ABB equipment such as VD4 circuit breakers and REX615 etc
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and surface mount technology (SMT).
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical schematics, and wiring standards.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand mechanical drawings and assembly procedures.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
- Good organisational skills and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team.
- Relevant electrical or mechanical qualifications are desirable but not mandatory.
- Ability to work safely around high-voltage equipment and adhere strictly to safety protocols.
