Forklift Mechanic
We are currently recruiting for a well-established and fast-moving heavy lifting company that takes real pride in its work.
We are looking for a skilled and down-to-earth Forklift Mechanic with strong forklift and mechanical experience who is ready to get hands-on and become a valued part of their team. This is a varied role working across a range of heavy plant and lifting equipment within a busy, practical environment.
As a Forklift Mechanic, you’ll be responsible for:
- Maintaining, repairing, and servicing a wide range of gas, diesel, and electric-powered plant machinery.
- Servicing and repairing forklifts, MEWPs, telehandlers, and other lifting and plant equipment.
- Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
- Carrying out routine inspections and scheduled maintenance while keeping accurate records.
- Working with parts suppliers and assisting with sourcing the components required for repairs.
- Maintaining a safe and tidy workspace and following all health and safety procedures.
You will have the following skills and experience:
- Strong mechanical knowledge with good problem-solving abilities and a practical approach to repairs.
- Previous hands-on experience maintaining and repairing forklifts and other plant or lifting equipment.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Good knowledge of gas, diesel, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, with the ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in plant maintenance, servicing, or mechanical repairs.
- A valid Forklift Operator Licence would be advantageous.
What’s in it for You:

- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM + no weekends
