We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Solar Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for renewable energy and a strong mechanical aptitude. As a Solar Installer, you will be responsible for the installation of solar panels on residential and commercial properties, ensuring that all systems are set up efficiently and safely. This role requires both physical stamina and technical knowledge to effectively contribute to our mission of promoting sustainable energy solutions.
Responsibilities
- Install solar panels on rooftops and ground-mounted systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Use hand tools and power tools to assemble, install, and maintain solar energy systems.
- Conduct site assessments to determine optimal placement of solar panels based on structural integrity and sunlight exposure.
- Dig trenches for wiring and conduit installation as needed.
- Perform electrical work related to solar installations, including wiring connections and system testing.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Troubleshoot any issues that arise during installation or post-installation, providing solutions as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience in mechanical work or electrical installations is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment effectively.
- Familiarity with solar technology and installation practices is an advantage but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
- A valid driver's licence is preferred for travel between job sites.
- Physical fitness is required, as the role involves lifting heavy equipment and working in physically demanding conditions.
