Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Takeaway Assistant to join our busy food service team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting daily operations, ensuring efficient service, sometimes delivering, maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. Responsibilities
- Prepare and package takeaway orders accurately and efficiently to meet customer expectations
- Assist with meal and food preparation, ensuring all dishes are prepared to the highest standards
- Support the kitchen team with general food preparation tasks and maintaining cleanliness throughout the workspace
- Serve customers courteously at the counter or via phone orders, providing excellent customer service
- Maintain stock levels and ensure all ingredients and supplies are stored correctly
- Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist with cleaning duties in the kitchen and dining areas to uphold health and safety standards
- Handle cash transactions accurately if required, supporting the overall smooth operation of the takeaway service
Requirements
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
- Knowledge of food preparation, meal assembly, and kitchen safety protocols is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in order accuracy and cleanliness
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when serving customers
- Basic understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary
