The Role
We’re looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Coffee Shop & Café Assistant to join our growing team at Shepherds Baa.
As our coffee and daytime offering continues to grow, we’re looking for someone who enjoys providing excellent customer service, preparing quality coffees and serving our delicious cakes, pastries and light refreshments in a welcoming environment.
You’ll be one of the friendly faces of Shepherds Baa, helping to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for our customers while ensuring every visitor receives excellent customer service.
Your Responsibilities
- Preparing and serving speciality coffees, teas and other hot and cold drinks
- Serving cakes, pastries and light food
- Providing friendly, efficient customer service
- Operating the till and handling payments
- Keeping the café and serving areas clean, tidy and well presented
- Replenishing displays and ensuring products are attractively presented
- Assisting with opening and closing duties
- Working closely with the kitchen and wider team to deliver a great customer experience
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, approachable and enjoys working with people
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- A confident communicator with a positive attitude
- Able to work efficiently in a busy environment
- Passionate about great coffee and excellent customer service
- Previous café, hospitality or barista experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided for the right person
About the Shepherds Baa
The Shepherds Baa is an independent, family-run café located next to the beautiful Lynford Arboretum and Lakes. Since opening in 2021, we have become a popular destination for walkers, cyclists, families and visitors looking to enjoy great food and drink in a unique woodland setting.
As we continue to grow, we are expanding our menu to offer freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches alongside our speciality coffees, teas, homemade cakes and sweet treats. With exciting plans for the future, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, supportive team at an exciting stage in our journey.
Hours
Full-time and part-time opportunities available
You will need to be flexible with your work hours as it will depend on weather, school holidays and seasons and it will include week days, weekends and bank holidays
