Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Shop Manager to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will support the Shop Manager in overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring excellent customer service. Duties
- Assist in supervising daily shop activities to ensure smooth operations
- Support staff management, including scheduling, training, and motivating team members
- Contribute to sales management by implementing merchandising strategies and achieving sales targets
- Oversee stock organisation, inventory control, and visual presentation of products
- Maintain high standards of customer service through effective communication and phone etiquette
- Handle administrative tasks such as reporting, record keeping, and processing transactions accurately
- Support the management team in developing promotional initiatives and marketing efforts
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the shop environment
- Foster a positive team environment by supervising staff performance and providing constructive feedback
Qualifications
- Proven management or supervisory experience within a retail setting
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent organisational skills and time management abilities
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written; multilingual or bilingual abilities are advantageous
- Experience in merchandising, sales management, and administrative duties
- Demonstrated ability to handle customer interactions professionally with good phone etiquette
- Organised with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
- Management or retail management qualifications are desirable but not essential
- Previous experience in team management, supervising staff, or retail operations is preferred
