Overview
Cottenham Parish Council is looking for an enthusiastic, organised and customer-focused Facilities Clerk to oversee the day-to-day operation of Cottenham Village Hall and Sports Pavilion.
This varied role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people and no two days being the same. You'll be responsible for managing bookings, welcoming hirers, ensuring the buildings are safe, clean and well-presented, coordinating maintenance and repairs, taking meter readings, obtaining quotations, and helping to ensure our community facilities runs smoothly for everyone who uses them.

Duties
- Manage all hall bookings from initial enquiry through to completion, ensuring hirers have everything they need for a successful event.
- Conduct viewings of the building for prospective hirers and explain available facilities and booking procedures.
- Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the Village Hall and Pavilion by responding promptly to issues as they arise.
- Manage daily facilities operations, including maintenance scheduling and coordination of repairs.
- Supervise maintenance staff and contractors, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Assist with the development and implementation of safety procedures related to facility management.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and organisational policies.
Skills
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and planning processes.
- Experience of dealing directly with customers or members of the public.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good administrative and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and computerised booking systems (Hallmaster), or the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and manage bookings efficiently.
- Experience of obtaining quotations and liaising with contractors or suppliers.
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
