Duties
- Offer empathetic listening and emotional support to clients affected by domestic abuse
- Provide information about available services, safety planning, and legal options
- Assist clients in developing personalized safety plans tailored to their circumstances
- Support clients with accessing housing, healthcare, and legal resources
- Work closely with children who may be impacted by domestic abuse, ensuring their needs are prioritized
- Maintain accurate case records and document client interactions thoroughly
- Collaborate with external agencies such as law enforcement, social services, and healthcare providers to coordinate support efforts
Requirements
- Previous experience working with individuals affected by domestic abuse or in a related support role is preferred
- Must be able to communicate in Punjabi and English
- Must be computer literate
- Experience working with children is highly desirable to effectively support young clients and their families
- Strong communication skills with the ability to listen actively and convey information clearly
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and resilience when working in sensitive situations
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to safeguarding policies
- Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs and work schedules
