The Role
We are looking for an experienced Carpenter / Multi‑Trade Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be hands-on, reliable, and capable of carrying out a wide range of carpentry and general building tasks across our projects.
You will be working on refurbishment and construction sites, often within tight programmes and live buildings, so a strong understanding of safe systems of work and quality finishes is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- First and second fix carpentry
- Installation of stud walls, timber framing, floors, doors, and skirting
- Minor demolition and making good works
- Working from drawings, RAMS, and site instructions
- Using hand and power tools safely and competently
- Liaising with site management and other trades
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and housekeeping
- Complying with all health & safety requirements and site rules
Essential Requirements
✅ Minimum 5 years’ experience in carpentry or multi‑trade construction
✅ NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry or Multi‑Trade (or equivalent)
✅ Valid CSCS card
✅ Strong knowledge of construction safety and RAMS
✅ Ability to work independently or as part of a team
✅ Full UK driving licence (preferred)
✅ Good communication skills and professional attitude
Desirable (but not essential)
- NVQ Level 3
- Experience working in commercial or occupied buildings
- Additional multi‑trade skills (plastering, basic plumbing, decorating, etc.)
- First Aid or SSSTS certification
Pay: £120.00-£260.00 per day
