Working as part of a small warehouse team for the multi-temperature wholesaler Osprey Foods, on the edge of the Holt Country Park. Osprey supply several cruise ship operators as well as having contracts to supply remote locations for example the Falklands Islands. The role includes all operational aspects of running the warehouse, with food products & drinks coming in from around the world, being stored in the appropriate location ready for shipping back out again as part of a customer’s order.
Osprey’s goal is to competitively supply its customers with the food & drink items it requires, aiming for 100% fulfilment of each & every order placed by the customers. In order to achieve this, the shipping, trading & warehouse teams must work closely to ensure all items required by the customers are in stock, ready for the warehouse team to pick.
As part of the warehouse team, reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, one of your main responsibilities will be to take in deliveries, which involves manual handling including the loading and unloading of containers, ensuring the delivery matches up with the Purchase Order and no items are missing or damaged. Next is to fill in the relevant paperwork and then put the stock away in the relevant warehouse, operating fork lift trucks & reach trucks could be required and if so, appropriate training will be provided.
When orders come in, you will use the warehouse system to identify where the required items are, the items will then need to be picked and loaded onto pallets or into containers. To ensure orders are 100% correct and all items are in good condition requires accuracy and attention to detail, skills which are essential to be part of the warehouse team.
