This role forms part of a new, small team of experienced, qualified Learning Disability Specialists. Their role is to provide sessional cover for both planned and unplanned Staff absences at any of our four sites. As a Staff member you will be teaching 8 - 10 adults in two sessions on or off-sites daily.
The sessions are designed to teach independent living and employment skills, health & wellbeing management to adults with intellectual (learning) disability and are ASDAN accredited. These are adults with conditions from birth impacting cognitive development with high associated sensory and physical co-morbidity. Conditions such as Down's, cerebral palsy, Sotos and Williams.
All our LDSWs complete a range of specialist training in addition to their Health & Social Care core qualification. Opportunities for career progression at Journey allow Staff to either progress to team leadership and middle management roles or to specialize further within our Projects Team. Our Projects are funded on short cycles, from 1 - 3 years, enabling us to provide innovation and extended opportunities.

Qualifications
You must have both completed a minimum NVQ2/3 in Health & Social Care and have experience of delivering Day Service sessions or be a Graduate Teacher (with QTS), and be experienced in shaping and delivering upper secondary or FE classes including SEND delivery. We are unable to consider Graduate Teachers from Primary/Middle Phases.

Contracts are offered on a permanent basis.

Pay: £24,940.00 per year
