HGV Driver – Lorry Loader (HIAB) Operator Class 1 or 2

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Role Summary:
We are seeking qualified and professional HGV Drivers with Lorry Loader (HIAB) certification to join our team, operating Class 1 or Class 2 vehicles fitted with lorry-mounted cranes. You will be responsible for delivering, lifting, and positioning goods or equipment safely and efficiently at various sites, often requiring self-loading and unloading.
This role requires a strong focus on safety, compliance, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate HGV vehicles with mounted lorry loader cranes (HIAB) to deliver and lift loads
- Carry out safe loading, unloading, and securing of loads in line with site and road safety standards
- Operate lorry loader cranes to position loads accurately
- Complete vehicle walkaround checks and report any defects or maintenance issues
- Ensure all lifting operations comply with LOLER, PUWER, and site-specific requirements
- Communicate with planners, clients, and site teams to ensure jobs are completed smoothly
- Maintain accurate records including delivery notes, job sheets, and tacho entries
- Represent the company professionally and promote a strong safety culture on all sites
- Adhere to all driving hours and transport regulations (WTD, tacho rules, DVSA guidance)
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid UK HGV Licence – Category C or C+E (Class 2 or Class 1)
- Current HIAB / Lorry Loader Certification (ALLMI,)
- Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
- Knowledge of lifting operations, safe working loads, and rigging techniques
- Good communication skills and customer-focused approach
- Willingness to work flexible hours and stay away where necessary.
Desirable (Not Essential):
- Experience with remote-control lorry loaders or specific crane types
- Knowledge of FORS / CLOCS site requirements
- Previous work in construction, utilities, or infrastructure delivery.
Hours & Benefits:
- Monday–Friday 50 Hours Guarantee – 06.00- 16.30
- Competitive salary, £50,000- £65,000 per annum, overtime always available , night-out allowances, Weekly Pay, Bonus scheme
