We are a highly regarded specialist primary school supporting children aged 3 to 11 with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), with many pupils also having an additional diagnosis of autism.
We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team. This is a rewarding opportunity to help children achieve their full potential in a nurturing, creative and highly specialised learning environment.

The Role
Working alongside teachers and senior staff, you will play a key role in supporting pupils' learning, wellbeing and development.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils to access learning activities both individually and in groups
- Assisting teachers with planning, preparation and classroom organisation
- Preparing resources and learning materials
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement
- Supporting pupils with a range of complex learning needs
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families and other professionals
This role may involve supporting pupils who require specialist approaches and individualised learning strategies.
Working Hours
32.5 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30am to 3:45pm
- Friday: 8:30am to 3:30pm
Contract Details
- Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
- Working Weeks: 39 weeks per year (term time only)
