Job Title: Temporary Transport Planner
Assignment Duration: Ongoing - with an immediate start
Salary: £26,500 - £30,000 per annum
Hours: 39 hours, Monday to Friday.
Job Purpose: To support the day-to-day planning of transport routes within a busy and fast-paced transport office, ensuring deliveries are planned efficiently, accurately and in line with customer requirements and transport regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and adjust daily transport routes to meet changing customer and operational requirements.
- Respond quickly to changes in volumes, driver availability, delays and other operational issues.
- Ensure routes comply with vehicle capacity, Drivers’ Hours Regulations and service requirements.
- Prepare and communicate accurate load plans, manifests and route information.
- Work closely with drivers, Warehouse, Transport Operations and Customer Service to resolve issues and keep deliveries on track.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Previous transport planning or busy transport office experience preferred.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident using transport planning systems and general IT applications.
- Clear communicator with good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
