The role:

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is looking for dedicated Health Care Support Workers to join our Older People and Stroke Rehabilitation & Assessment teams. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with Registered Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, person-centred care that supports patients throughout their recovery and rehabilitation journey. You will be based at The Vale of Leven Hospital

Working Pattern: TBC
Key responsibilities:
- Support Registered Nurses in delivering safe, effective and compassionate patient care

Assist patients with personal care activities including washing, dressing, mobility and nutrition

Observe and report any changes in a patient's condition to the nurse in charge
-
Assist with patient admissions, transfers and discharges in line with local procedures
-
Complete and maintain accurate patient documentation and care records
-
Ensure clinical areas, equipment and storage areas are clean, tidy and well maintained

Assist with stock control and the safe management of patient belongings
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Good standard of general education

Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to interact sensitively with patients and families

Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
-
Caring, compassionate and person-centred approach to patient care
-
Ability to follow procedures and work under the supervision of Registered Nurses

Awareness of the importance of maintaining accurate records and confidentiality

Previous experience in a care setting would be beneficial but is not essential as training will be provided
