Careers Adviser (Level 6 Qualified)
Support young people to build their future with confidence
We’re looking for a qualified and experienced Careers Adviser to work with students as they plan their next steps. This is a rewarding role for someone who enjoys helping young people explore what’s possible and take positive action toward their goals.
What you’ll do
- Deliver one-to-one guidance sessions with students to understand their interests, strengths, and future plans
- Provide clear advice on education and training pathways, including sixth form, college, apprenticeships, and work
- Lead group sessions on topics like CVs, interviews, applications, and making career decisions
- Offer tailored support to help students build skills, access opportunities, and overcome barriers
- Work closely with teachers, careers leads, and local employers to widen access to experiences and advice
- Keep your knowledge up to date with changes in the job market and the education landscape
- Record activity and outcomes clearly and consistently in line with service standards
What you’ll need
- A recognised Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance
- Confidence in working with young people from a range of backgrounds and needs
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly
- A calm, organised approach with strong time management skills
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team
- A genuine belief in the importance of good careers education
- A clean driving licence
