Summary
We are looking for an organised and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Finance Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, maintenance of the purchase ledger, reconciliation of supplier accounts, and resolution of supplier queries.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with high volumes of transactions whilst maintaining excellent accuracy and attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and efficiently.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and investigate discrepancies.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve account differences.
- Manage supplier queries and maintain positive supplier relationships.
- Ensure supplier accounts are kept accurate and up to date.
- Maintain supplier records and assist with supplier onboarding.
- Process employee expense claims in line with company policies.
- Assist with payment run preparation and supporting documentation.
- Review aged creditor balances and investigate outstanding items.
- Support month-end purchase ledger reconciliations.
- Assist with audit requests and finance administration.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger or Finance Assistant experience.
- Experience of processing high volumes of invoices.
- Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to build relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
- Competent user of Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
- Experience of Microsoft Business Central would be advantageous.
- AAT qualification or studies would be beneficial but not essential.
