Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Van Driver / Pergola Installer to join our team. This role involves delivering materials and equipment to various sites, as well as installing pergolas and related structures. The successful candidate will be responsible for safe driving, efficient delivery, and precise installation work, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to safety standards. A valid driver’s licence and experience with commercial driving are essential for this position.
Duties
- Safely operate a van for deliveries to clients' premises, ensuring timely and accurate drop-offs.
- Load and unload materials, including pergola components and other construction supplies, often requiring heavy lifting.
- Assist with the installation of pergolas, including measuring, assembling, and securing structures on-site.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to coordinate delivery schedules and installation timelines.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle and work area at all times.
- Follow all health and safety regulations during driving and installation tasks to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Complete relevant documentation for deliveries and installations accurately.
Experience
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver is highly desirable.
- Warehouse experience involving heavy lifting or logistics is advantageous.
- Proven ability to operate a van or similar vehicle safely in various traffic conditions.
- Experience in construction or outdoor installation work is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and working outdoors in different weather conditions.
