We are currently looking for experienced Steel Fixers to join a busy construction project in Gillingham, Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for reliable and hardworking steel fixers looking for ongoing work with a competitive rate of £23 per hour.
As a Steel Fixer, you will be responsible for installing and securing steel reinforcement in accordance with project drawings, specifications and site requirements.
Typical duties will include:
- Fixing and tying reinforcement steel for concrete structures.
- Reading and working from reinforcement drawings and plans.
- Cutting, bending and positioning reinforcement steel as required.
- Installing rebar, mesh and associated reinforcement.
- Using hand tools and steel-fixing equipment safely and effectively.
- Working alongside other steel fixers, groundworkers and the wider site team.
- Ensuring all work is completed to the required standards and specifications.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working area.
- Following all site health and safety procedures.
To be considered for this position, you will need:
- Valid CSCS card – essential.
- Previous experience working as a Steel Fixer.
- Good understanding of steel reinforcement and fixing techniques.
- Ability to read and understand construction/reinforcement drawings.
- Own basic tools and appropriate PPE.
- Good understanding of health and safety on a construction site.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
