Arden House is looking for an experienced Healthcare Assistant to work daytime shifts running from 8 am - 2 pm, and 2 pm - 8 pm over seven days - 35 hours a week contract to include weekend working as required.
We are currently looking for enthusiastic individuals who have a friendly disposition and a warm heart to join our friendly, professional team. You must be reliable, committed to helping others, and willing to find ways to make our residents' lives comfortable, interesting and fun.
Arden House in not a traditional residential care home Our residents include some that are living with a history of alcohol abuse, acquired brain injury and various degrees of mental illness combined with traditional needs of a care home. Arden House is therefore a challenging but rewarding environment
Arden House is all about the right balance of residents making it a busy, active and fun home which is full of energy and life. At Arden House, some of our residents tend to be slightly younger than those in traditional care homes, they are able to lead an active and sociable life in a safe environment, helped by our friendly yet professional staff members.
You will be required to:
- Provide personal care to each resident in accordance with their care plan.
- Work in a person centred way, ensuring residents retain their dignity and individuality at all times.
- Be involved in the general activities of the home.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for all residents, staff members and visitors.
Skills and Attitudes needed:
- A friendly, approachable, caring and helpful nature
- A genuine commitment to providing our residents with the very highest standards of care
- Motivation to work both individually and as part of a team
- Willingness to complete all required training (Moving & Handling , Health & Safety, Safeguarding etc)
- An ability to Show Compassion, Empathy & Commitment to all within the home
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care - preferred but not essential. We are ideally looking for someone with a passion to work in care, and training will be provided as needed.
- Other duties that might be required to assist in the smooth running of the Home. Previous experience in a similar role would be preferable, but training will also be provided A DBS check is, of course, required for this position.
