Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager/Duty Manager to oversee daily operations within our vibrant hospitality establishments, The Bank Bar & Restaurant and Cobbles Bar & Nightclub. The successful candidates will be responsible for managing bar services, supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for hospitality and leadership to contribute to a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring smooth operational flow.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of bar staff, including serving customers, preparing beverages, and maintaining service standards
- Oversee drink preparation and ensure service meet quality and safety standards
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients and beverages
- Enforce safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards across the premises
- Lead team management efforts by training new staff, scheduling shifts, and motivating team members to deliver exceptional service
- Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally to enhance guest satisfaction
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws and health & safety regulations at all times
- Assist in organising special events or promotions to boost sales and customer engagement
Skills
- Proven experience in bar or hospitality management, with a strong background in drinks preparation and supervision
- Supervising experience within a busy hospitality setting, demonstrating effective team management skills
- Extensive knowledge of safety standards and drinks production processes
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and develop staff members
- Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Experience in kitchen operations, hotel service environments, or barista roles is highly desirable
- Exceptional communication skills coupled with a professional demeanour
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly whilst maintaining attention to detail
