Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Years Teacher for our Pre-School Nursery. The ideal candidate will hold recognised qualifications such as QTS, EYT, or EYP and possess a strong commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. The successful candidate will have at least two years previous experience within working in Early Years. This role involves delivering high-quality early childhood education, supporting children's development, and working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for every child. The position is full time 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early years curriculum standards.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
- Monitor and assess children's progress, maintaining detailed records to inform future planning.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork.
- Support children's emotional well-being by providing consistent care and guidance.
- Organise daily routines, including playtimes, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring smooth transitions throughout the day.
- Lead by example in maintaining high standards of behaviour, organisation, and professionalism.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with best practices in early childhood education.
Requirements
- Hold a recognised qualification such as QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), EYT (Early Years Teacher), or EYP (Early Years Practitioner).
- Proven experience working with children within an Early Years Setting (Nursery or Reception.
- Strong management and leadership skills to effectively organise activities and guide junior staff when necessary.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated understanding of early childhood education principles and childcare practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating initiative independently.
