Centre Manager – Pre-Vocational Studies & Hospitality/Home Cooking BTECs
Location: Discovery Education Centre – Post-16 Provision
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Start date: 3rd of September (Bristol City Council term start 2026/27)
Hours: 9:00am–4:00pm, 35 hours per week, 39 weeks of the year
Annual Leave: In line with Bristol City Council term dates
About the Role
We are looking for a Centre Manager to oversee and deliver our Pre-Vocational Studies BTEC alongside Hospitality and Home Cooking BTECs for Post-16 learners with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
This role combines direct student work with centre leadership, offering a balance of teaching, mentoring, and management. The post holder will support a student four days per week, with one admin/management day to oversee staff, planning, and centre operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the Pre-Vocational and Hospitality/Home Cooking BTEC provision
- Deliver and oversee BTEC learning programmes
- Lead, support, and supervise centre staff
- Ensure ILPs are in place and reviewed regularly
- Maintain high standards of engagement, safeguarding, and behaviour
- Coordinate meetings with schools, parents, and external professionals
- Complete registers, reports, reviews, and general centre administration
- Ensure the centre is well-organised, safe, and welcoming
- Promote independence, life skills, and positive progression routes for students
About You
- Experience working with young people with additional needs
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Confident managing both education delivery and centre operations
- Organised, proactive, and solution-focused
- Experience or interest in hospitality, life skills, or vocational learning
- Comfortable combining hands-on student work with management duties
- MUST HAVE A CAR AND BE WILLING TO DRIVE
