Responsibilities
- Breakfast Time: Prepare, supervise, and support children during breakfast, ensuring a calm and positive environment.
- Welcome & Transitions: Greet children and parents warmly as they enter the nursery, ensuring a smooth and comforting transition away from parents.
- Morning Setup & Engagement: Help set up inviting educational activities and engage directly with children in play and learning.
- Daily Operations: Support the normal, day-to-day running of the room to ensure child safety, hygiene, and well-being.
- Team Handovers: Pass on important parental messages, registration details, and information to room staff as they arrive for their later shifts.
- Support the delivery of high-quality childcare and early childhood education activities tailored to children's developmental stages
- Assist with daily routines such as mealtimes, playtime, nap times, and learning sessions to ensure a smooth and positive experience for children
- Supervise and engage with children actively, encouraging their independence, social skills, and creativity
- Collaborate with senior staff to plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote growth and exploration
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment by adhering to health and safety standards at all times
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and daily experiences
Requirements
- Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 in Early Years is highly desirable, but unqualified applicants with relevant experience or a passion for childcare are welcome to apply.
- Reliability: Absolute punctuality is essential, as you are required to maintain legal room ratios.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to handle parent drop-offs and staff handovers.
- Safeguarding: A commitment to the safety and well-being of young children. Any offer is subject to a clear Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to connect positively with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also taking initiative independently.
