Job Summary
Gisborough Hall are looking for a reliable and efficient Night Porter, on a 40-hour (full time) basis, who will be responsible for ensuring that the hotel runs smoothly on a nightly basis. The role is based on 5 nights out of 7. Shifts will include weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis.
General responsibilities include:-
- To manage all operations relating to nights, carrying out Reception duties arising during this time.
- To check and balance daily business before you process the Night audit ensuring all documentation is forwarded to the accounts department.
- Security of the building is key to this role, and you’ll act as a Fire Officer on duty & must be able to act swiftly should the fire alarms be activated to ensure the safety of all guests and employees.
- Deal with guest enquiries, including room service.
- Ensure all areas of the hotel are clean and tidy at all times and that only residents are on the premises once all functions have finished.
- Carry out hotel security, energy and fire walkarounds at the agreed times, ensuring all documentation is completed.
- Ensure all areas of the hotel are consistently set to core standards in line with function sheets reporting any maintenance issues promptly.

Requirements
- Previous experience in hotel or hospitality environments is advantageous
- Excellent guest service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Strong phone etiquette skills for handling guest inquiries and reservations
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, or holidays if required
- Organised, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment
Although experience in a similar role (that included nights work) is an advantage although full training will be given.
