Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting and robust financial controls across the business.
This is a varied role offering exposure to management accounting, transactional finance and legal cashiering activities, with full training provided where required.
- Supplier statement reconciliations and resolution of account discrepancies
- Journal processing, including accruals and prepayments
- Accounts payable processing, including invoice coding and supplier payments
- Assisting with month-end procedures and management accounts preparation
- Bank reconciliations and cash management
- Maintaining accurate financial records and controls
- Producing ad-hoc financial analysis and reports
- Investigating and resolving finance queries from internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting legal cashiering duties in accordance with Solicitors Accounts Rules (full training provided)
- Assisting with continuous improvement of finance processes and systems
We are looking for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys analysing data, solving problems and helping drive business performance.
- Genuinely advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, data manipulation, analysis and automation of reconciliations and reporting processes
- Strong experience within an accounts, finance or assistant management accountant role
- Experience of supplier statement reconciliations and accounts payable processing
- Experience posting journals, accruals and prepayments
- A natural commercial mindset, with the ability to understand the wider business impact behind the numbers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to challenge and investigate where required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience supporting month-end and management accounting processes
- Experience within a professional services environment
- Exposure to legal cashiering or Solicitors Accounts Rules (training can be provided)
