About the role:
Justteachers are looking for a patient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Sheringham from September 2026. This full‑time role is ideal for someone passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
You will work closely with class teachers, the SENDCo, and external professionals to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1:1 support for pupils with EHCPs or additional learning needs
- Small‑group interventions focused on communication, literacy, numeracy, or social skills
- Supporting behaviour regulation and emotional wellbeing
- Adapting learning materials to meet individual needs
- Helping create an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment
- Working collaboratively with staff and families
Pre-requisites:
- Experience supporting children with SEND (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language needs, or learning difficulties)
- Two education or school based references
- Must have clear enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach
- Ability to follow personalised learning plans and behaviour strategies
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
