You'll be joining our dedicated Major Works team , responsible for carrying out repairs in our customers' homes. We're seeking a skilled tradesperson with strong plastering expertise and proven experience working in domestic properties.

What will a typical week look like?

A typical week could be as follows
- You’ll start the day by being responsible for maintaining your van stock and ensure you have the right tools and equipment to work safely, always putting the customer first.
- You’ll respond to reactive repair requests, diagnosing and resolving issues.
- You’ll carry out a range of plastering tasks, including surface preparation, skimming, rendering, patch repairs, ceiling restoration, and damp-proof plastering
- You’ll removing old plaster, wallpaper, or loose materials to diagnose damp & mould issues
- You’ll ensure all work is completed safely, using appropriate PPE, dust sheets, and overshoes to protect the property and show respect to the customer.
- You’ll carry out dynamic risk assessments on-site and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Communicate with the planning team through our housing management system around the status of a job, ensuring records are accurate and customers stay well-informed throughout the process.
- Undertake other repairs involving plastering, brickwork, and other general building tasks as required.
You’ll be part of our Out of Hours call-out rota for emergency repairs
What Skills and Experience will you need?
- Strong experience in Plastering or Joinery is essential
- Experience in other trades is highly desirable, such as, bricklaying, tiling, painting and decorating, plumbing, carpentry, glazing, roofing, drainage and external works
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the repairs of domestic properties
- An awareness of health and safety considerations within a domestic property (i.e. Asbestos, working around customers, working at heights & electrics)
- The ability to use PDA/iPad and other electronic communication devices
- The ability to interpret a job description from a handheld device and carry out those tasks in a timely manner
- The ability to communicate on regular basis with team leaders and planners to ensure work is carried out and completed to the highest possible standard
Must have a full valid, clean driving license
