Thermal Care Scotland is expanding, and we are looking for a standout Air Conditioning Installation Engineer to become the foundation of our new North East operation.
This is not a standard engineer vacancy.
We are looking for someone who wants more than turning up, installing systems, and moving on to the next job. This role is for an experienced engineer who wants to help build something — a new regional operation, a strong local reputation, and eventually a team around them.
You will be the first key appointment in the region and will play an important part in shaping how our North East air conditioning installation work is delivered.
The Opportunity
As our Regional Lead Air Conditioning Installation Engineer, you will take responsibility for high-quality domestic and light commercial air conditioning installations across the North East.
You will be trusted to represent the company on site, deliver excellent workmanship, provide a first-class customer experience, and help us grow the region properly.
As the workload develops, this role has clear progression into a leadership position, supporting future engineers, mentoring junior team members, and helping build a regional installation team.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is already a strong installer and is ready for the next step in their career.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Category 1 F Gas certification
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Electrical testing and inspection experience
- Strong experience installing domestic split air conditioning systems
- A high standard of workmanship
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- The ability to work independently and make good decisions on site
- Leadership potential and the drive to help build a regional team
You do not need to have managed a team before, but you must have the right attitude, standards, and ambition to grow into a leadership role.
What You Will Be Doing
You will be responsible for:
- Installing domestic and light commercial air conditioning systems
- Carrying out high-quality split system installations
- Completing electrical connection, testing, and commissioning works where competent
- Delivering a professional customer experience from arrival to handover
- Working safely and following company procedures
- Supporting surveys, technical decisions, and installation planning where required
- Helping develop the standards and working methods for the North East operation
- Supporting future engineers as the regional team grows
Why Join Thermal Care Scotland?
We are a growing HVAC and renewables business with ambitious plans for expansion.
You will not be joining a large company where you are just another number. You will be coming in at an important stage of growth, with the opportunity to make a real impact.
We offer:
- Excellent salary package
- Company vehicle
- Long-term career progression
- Leadership opportunity as the North East team grows
- Support from an experienced management and technical team
- High-quality work across domestic and commercial projects
- The chance to help build a regional operation from the ground up
The Right Fit
This role will suit someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well with customers, and wants to progress beyond being “just an engineer”.
We are looking for someone who can become a trusted lead for the region — someone reliable, professional, technically strong, and motivated by the chance to build a team and grow with the business.
If you are an experienced air conditioning installation engineer looking for your next step, this is a rare opportunity to join at the start of something and help shape what comes next.
