Fully Flexible Port Operative - Southampton
Southampton Cargo Handling, is the most extensive provider of stevedoring services in the UK. We have supported the port and logistics sectors for more than 30 years and our expertise spans the full range of port services, including rope handling, discharging and loading cargoes and port terminal management.
Working Hours: - Covering 7-Days Fully Flexible / 40hrs
Salary :- £32,702.84
Responsibilities
- To carry out car driving, baggage/stores handling, car and cargo lashing, basic forklift driving and checking cargo documentation plus any other plant or stevedoring skills as required
- To be flexible and fully support our company business aims and objectives
- To ensure H&S policy and procedures are strictly adhered to at all times, by maintaining and instilling in others a safe working environment
- To meet the customers’ expectations in full with regards to your role on each operation
- To keep up to date and be available to attend training courses when required
- To work within the company’s quality process and compliance standards and procedures
- Ensure the ISPS requirements are met and adhered to at all times
- To limit damage to our vehicles and customers cargo whenever possible
Requirements
- To maintain a safe and clean working environment by encouraging good housekeeping
- To ensure that all company equipment is left in good clean working order
- To perform any other relevant task delegated by management according to company or business requirements as long as they are within your skill set and competency levels.
- To ensure that the company’s H&S policy and procedures are strictly adhered to at all times, by maintaining and instilling in others, a safe working environment
- Be prepared to work hours consistent with the allocated task of function
- Perform any other relevant task delegated by the General Manager according to company or business requirements as long as they are within your skill set and competence levels
- Act as an ambassador for the company at all times, and encourage personnel to the same by your example
Essential Requirements:
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft 365
- A full, clean UK driving license.
- A team player
