We are seeking passionate and dedicated QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or subject specialist Maths and Science Tutors to inspire and support students in their academic journey. In this role, you will deliver engaging, personalized tutoring sessions that foster confidence and mastery in key subjects. Responsibilities
Daytime availability during the summer and term time evenings and weekends (Excellent opportunity to make extra income - this will be hybrid remote with only one day a week needed in the centre)
- Deliver tailored tutoring sessions in Maths and Science to students across various age groups, ensuring clarity and understanding.
- Create engaging lesson plans that motivate students and promote active participation in their education
- Provide constructive feedback to students of progress at the end of lessons and, when appropriate, communicating with parents or guardians within tutoring sessions - no admin to take home!
- Foster a supportive, encouraging atmosphere that builds confidence and enthusiasm for learning in each student.
- No admin to take home ! Everything is done within the tutoring sessions with various materials such as excercise books, stationery and more provided for yourself and students!
- A fun, positive, light-hearted learning environment where you can grab a cup of tea or coffee whenever you like and schedule mini-breaks with students to pace sessions.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with certification in Maths or Science teaching is preferred but graduates and University students with strong subject knowledge and some experience tutoring are welcome to apply.
- Proven experience in tutoring or classroom teaching, especially working with children or young learners
- Knowledge of special education needs (SEN) and ability to adapt lessons accordingly
- Excellent communication skills to clearly explain concepts and motivate students
- Passion for education with a proactive approach to student engagement and success
- Ability to build rapport with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles
