Lead One of the UK's Leading Commercial Laundry Operations
Johnsons Restaurant & Catering Linen is one of the UK's largest providers of linen and textile rental services to the hospitality sector.
We are seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead our Crawley operation. This is a significant leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, developing high-performing teams and delivering outstanding customer service while ensuring strong financial performance.
Reporting to the Operations Director, you will have full responsibility for the site's operational, financial and people performance.
About the Role
As General Manager you will lead a multi-disciplinary management team across Production, Engineering, Transport, Customer Service and Administration.
You will be accountable for:
- Leading a positive, high-performance culture.
- Delivering exceptional customer service and operational performance.
- Driving continuous improvement in productivity, quality and efficiency.
- Managing labour, utilities and operational costs.
- Delivering budgeted financial performance.
- Developing and coaching future leaders.
- Ensuring excellent Health & Safety and compliance standards.
- Building strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced operational leader who has a proven track record of leading large teams within manufacturing, production, logistics, industrial services, food production, textiles or commercial laundry.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Outstanding leadership and people management skills.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness.
- Experience managing large operational teams.
- Excellent communication and influencing ability.
- A passion for continuous improvement.
- The ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- A hands-on leadership style with high standards and strong accountability.
Experience within the commercial laundry industry would be advantageous but is not essential. We welcome applications from leaders with transferable operational experience from similar fast-paced manufacturing or service environments.
