Job Overview
Our client, a school in the Sevenoaks area is looking to appoint a Health and Safety Manager to oversee and promote a safe working environment across their organisation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, carry out weekly checks and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
· This is a one-year fixed term contract, 5 days a week.
· The ideal working hours are between 07:00 and 16:00 (with one-hour unpaid lunch)

Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies aligned with legislative requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead investigations into accidents or incidents, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, incidents, and compliance status for senior management review.
- Coordinate emergency response procedures, including first aid protocols and evacuation plans.
- Deliver training sessions on health and safety practices to staff at all levels.
- Monitor adherence to safety regulations through audits and inspections, providing guidance for continuous improvement.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies during inspections or audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in health and safety management within a similar industry setting.
- Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH certification are highly desirable.
- First aid certification is essential, with ongoing training preferred.
- Strong report writing skills with the ability to produce clear, detailed documentation.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis techniques to identify underlying issues behind incidents or hazards.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills to engage with staff at all levels and external agencies.

Pay: £35,660.66-£45,928.75 per year
