The Shift Operations Leader role operates within a modern, automated corrugated packaging manufacturing environment. The position is responsible for overall shift performance, ensuring safe, efficient, and well-coordinated operations across production, warehouse, and support functions. The role involves leading and coordinating teams to achieve output targets while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and organisation. The post holder will oversee operational flow, drive performance, and ensure effective communication across departments within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead and coordinate all operational activities during the shift, including production, warehouse, and logistics
· Ensure production targets are achieved, including output, efficiency, waste reduction, and downtime control
· Maintain and promote high standards of Health & Safety across all shift activities
· Monitor and manage overall production flow and operational performance
· Support, guide, and coordinate operators and support teams during shift operations
· Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues in real time
· Ensure effective communication and coordination between departments
· Oversee shift handovers, reporting, and performance tracking
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and operational performance
· Operate within internal material handling system environments
· Monitor and utilise internal production control systems
· Ensure full integration and alignment between production and warehouse processes
SCOPE OF POSITION
The post holder will be expected to work the hours required to fulfil the responsibilities of the role within a shift-based production environment and will be remunerated accordingly for the hours worked.
The role includes responsibility for coordinating and directing operational teams during the shift but does not necessarily include formal line management accountability unless otherwise specified.
LOCATION
This position is located at Ellesmere Port and may require occasional travel to other sites where necessary.
